Hi I’m Sian (She – In!)

I’ve been a hairstylist for over 20 years now (eeek!) and I love hair! I can’t imagine doing anything else. I left school and headed for Art College, thinking I’d better give college a shot! Although I enjoyed the student life, I knew – when practicing plaits on my friends hair in lectures – hairdressing was where my true passion was. I made the move & I’ve never looked back.

Knowing I wanted to be with the best in the business I finished my training in Toni&Guy. Working my way up from stylist to style director and spending time in the Dublin and Sydney branches I gained invaluable experience in the hairdressing industry. Cutting, styling & teaching both in and out of the salon & working with and learning from some of the Ireland & the UK’s leading stylists was amazing.

I’ve been out of the salon working freelance for over 10 years now and I’m loving it. I really enjoy working with brides – it’s such a privilege to be part of their big day. I find myself feeling genuinely excited every time I have to put on a veil or see a bride in her dress!

The highlight of my recent career has been working with the presenters and the judges on Rte’s Dancing With The Stars – best job ever! I’ve also been lucky enough, over the last few years, to work  on Virgin Media's The Big Deal, The Deirdre O'Kane Show for SkyMax, RTEs Last Singer Standing and campaign shoots for amazing Irish brands like Poco by Pippa and Sculpted by Aimee Connolly.

 

I also run my own education programme – UPSTYLE ACADEMY! I  run courses for industry professionals to up-skill and non professionals to get the hang of doing their own hair. See my social media for the latest updates.
